| The Ormiston family are credited with being the originators of Holiday Riding in Scotland, and started Pony Trekking in Newtonmore from their Hotel in 1952. Ruaridh is now the 3rd generation of his family to continue the tradition and started operating his own centre in 1992. At Newtonmore Riding Centre they offer everything from 2 day 3 night Trail Riding Holidays right down to Children’s Lead Rein Lessons and have a variety of horses and ponies to suit. The 5 day Working or Learning Holidays have been very popular in the past. The centre will tailor packages to suit all abilities from a half hour ride to a complete weeks holiday.
