Comunn na Gàidhlig was established in 1984 as a co-ordinating Gaelic Development Agency.
Ranging from international to community level, CnaG strengthens Gaelic in each area.
CnaG is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status.
Fay Thompson, Federation of Small Businesses: In addition to recognising the cultural heritage of Scotland, Gaelic and bi-lingual signs are important in commercial and public activities. A recent article in the Inverness Courier shows that "Many high growth companies in Ireland and Wales have attributed their success to the elevated status and price that bilingual marketing affords their products. They recognise that the Irish and Welsh languages carry a strong message about the origins and identity of a product. This is seen as an invaluable asset in creating highly profitable niche markets."
We in Scotland have a magnificent marketing tool at our disposal and which can only enhance the activities of business and the public sector alike.
